Never, never, never quit. It's that
simple.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 14, 2004
Orange County, CA – September 11, 2004 – "Never, never,
never quit." Honored by the American Business Women's Association
in Southern California as one of three "Outstanding Business Women
of 2004", Dr. Rhoberta Shaler credited those words of Winston Churchill
for the inspiration to persist while building her
speaking and training business. The award was presented at the gala 'Women
of Vision' event on American Business Woman's Day - September 11 – at
the DoubleTree Inn in Orange County. Dr. Shaler is a conflict management expert, and master motivator. Founder
of the Optimize! Institute in Escondido, she speaks, trains and coaches
executives, entrepreneurs and employees to 'play nicely together in the
company sandbox'. Her seventh book, Wrestling Rhinos: Conquering Conflict
in the Wilds
of Work, has been hailed as “an instant classic . . . essential
in any business library.” Recognized for her accomplishments and impact as a business owner and
entrepreneur, Shaler credits a tenacity she developed as a child and
a unfailing commitment to her personal goals as the impetus behind her
success. Moving to the US from Canada only six years ago, she has not
wasted a moment embracing
her new country and all it has to offer. This is reflected in the wide-reaching
impact she has had as a speaker, facilitator & author worldwide,
and the community service she has provided as part of
her commitment to making a difference. In receiving this honor, Dr. Shaler said, "We can choose to be
the anchor or the engine in any endeavor. When we are constantly moving
towards our goals, living our values and making a conscious contribution,
there is little we cannot accomplish. My mission is to help people worldwide
communicate in ways that are
totally kind and totally honest at the same time. Transmitting the skills
that transform relationships and increase productivity, peace and profits
is an exciting and worthwhile way to spend every day." A resident of the San Diego area for the past 3 years, Shaler was nominated
by the Soaring Eagles Chapter of Escondido, her local ABWA chapter and
affiliate of the IMPACT! Council, which serves Los Angeles Area, Orange,
San Bernadino, Riverside and San Diego Counties. Each of the 20 chapters
in the southern
California IMPACT! Council nominated one woman for the honor. Of those
twenty, three are chosen to receive it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rhoberta Shaler, PhD, Founder of the Optimize! Institute in Escondido,
