Welcome <$firstname$>,
Happy
New Year! This
is going to be your best year yet, right? This is the year for
you to reach your goals, to create & accept
the prosperity you deserve in all areas of your life. I'm dedicated
to doing that AND to helping you do it, too. That's why I created
the programs under NEWS, just below, to get started
in the very best way. I hope you'll join me.
Having been both an employee & an
entrepreneur, I have learned a few valuable lessons that have
made a big difference. That's what I share with you in these programs.
Easy to take from home or from work--just pick up the phone! www.OptimizeInstitute.com/teleseminars/index.htm
I was surprised! In my last edition, I offered to call you on
the telephone to learn more about you and your work. Very few people
took me up on the offer. I decided to leave that offer open until
the next edition. So you have three weeks. I really would like
to get to know you, what you're up to, what you need, what you
want. It will help me improve this ezine. Use
this link so I'll know more about you before we talk.
I'll begin making these calls next week.
Do you spend at least a half hour a day staying organized? That
is an excellent investment of your time. Sure, you may have to
invest a little more in the beginning but do it incrementally.
Do an hour a day until everything is done once and for all. You
really can do it. You'll be surprised how much energy you will
release when everything in your life is generally in order.
Want some help with that? You can download my annual Personal
Integrity Checklist at www.OptimizeInstitute.com/tools/pic.htm That
gives us all something to aim at. Want support while you do it?
Make this your very best year ever along with me.
Let's walk together.
I wish you well.

P.S. Remember, you can still have a FREE half-hour coaching
consultation. Experience coaching with me and get insights& ideas
for achieving your most important goals in life& business.
Space is limited. Book
today so you don't have to wait to get on with 2004 in the best
way! |

Speaking About Work: CAN WE TALK?
by Rhoberta Shaler, PhD www.OptimizeInstitute.com
Do those words, 'Can we talk?', encourage
you to communicate, or strike terror into your heart? For many
folks, the latter is true. They have learned that the person's
next words may be difficult to hear. It is common to expect confrontation
to follow, and it can be intimidating. READ

Guest Article : THE TOP TWELVE EMAIL MISTAKES
THAT CAN SABOTAGE YOUR CAREER By Lydia Ramsey
You return to your office from an afternoon
meeting and decide to check e-mail. An hour later, having downloaded
your messages, selecting those you should read, deleting the ones
that look like junk, crafting replies to the most important ones,
filing others that you want to work on later, you wonder where
your day went. It was like that when you arrived at work this morning,
and tomorrow promises to be no different... READ

As I sat here thinking of what to write
about, I came up with all sorts of things that I “know” but
don’t necessarily excel at practicing… so… what
came out of that? A selection of things that we can hopefully all
relate to – the stuff you know you “should” do,
and the reality of forcing yourself to do them… regularly. READ

TWELVE THINGS YOU'LL NEVER HEAR AN EMPLOYEE
TELL HIS/HER BOSS
- Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 5:00
and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is always
refreshing.
- If it's really a "rush job," run in and interrupt
me every 10 minutes to inquire how it's going. That greatly aids
my efficiency.
- Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It
gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you
are.
- If my arms are full of papers, boxes, books or supplies, don't
open the door for me. I might need to learn how to function as
a paraplegic in future and opening doors is good training.
- If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which
is the priority. Let me guess.
- Do your best to keep me late. I like the office and really
have nowhere to go or anything to do.
- If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. Leaks like that
could get me a promotion.
- If you don't like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to
be popular in conversations.
- If you have special instructions for a job, don't write them
down. If fact, save them until the job is almost done.
- Never introduce me to the people you're with. When you refer
to them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.
- Be nice to me only when the job I'm doing for you could really
change your life.
- Tell me all your little problems. No one else has any and
it's nice to know someone is less fortunate.
